FAQ

A: Under FL law, by Governor Ron Desantis, Nurse Practitioners are now prohibited from ordering this treatment. However, while we can't provide hormone therapy, rest assured this is a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQ community, where your physical and mental health and well-being are our top priorities!

Q: I am a transgendered individual transitioning from female to male. Can you assist with ordering my hormone therapy?

A: Absolutely, we welcome your child for care, even if they are not vaccinated. We respect your choices, and we'll never pressure you on vaccines or treatments. However, we'll discuss all medically necessary options for your child's well-being. If you choose not to proceed with certain treatments, that's completely fine. In some instances, we might ask you to sign a refusal of recommended treatment for legal purposes. Rest assured, we'll always be respectful of your beliefs.

Q: Would you provide medical care for my child, considering they are not vaccinated due to our family's belief against vaccines?

A: We value your time and want to ensure you receive the best care when you schedule with us. If you ever need to cancel or reschedule, please reach out to our office as soon as you can. This allows us to offer the appointment slot to other patients eagerly waiting.

For cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, a $50 cancellation fee applies. In case of a no-show for a confirmed appointment, a $50 no-show fee will be charged. We understand life happens, and we're happy to share that membership patients enjoy a waiver of these fees up to 2 times. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!

Q: Is there a policy on no-shows and cancellations?

A: Payment is expected in full for services provided. Any outstanding balances must be settled before seeking additional services, including appointments or medication refills. New patients from the same family will not be accepted until all outstanding balances for family members are cleared. Unsettled accounts may be forwarded to collections.

To streamline the checkout process and enhance efficiency, we have instituted a policy requiring a credit card to be securely held on file. Similar to practices in hotels and rental agencies, we request your credit card information upon check-in. This information will be securely stored until the conclusion of your appointment (for non-members), or until you discontinue services (members). Following your appointment, any remaining balance will be charged to your credit card, and a receipt will be promptly sent to your patient portal account. This process is designed to facilitate a quicker and more convenient checkout experience for you.

Q. What is your payment policy?

A: Absolutely! Specialists are an essential part of many individuals' care. Please note: if you have HMO insurance that requires pre-authorizations by your in-network providers, you will need to see your assigned primary care doctor to get this authorized. If you do not have insurance, we can help you find a specialist at a cash-pay rate.

Q: What if I need a specialist? Can you help me find one?

A: No. This is what we are all about- not being tied to insurance hassle. Unfortunately, due to federal regulations, if you are on Medicare or Medicaid, we cannot see you as a DPC patient. We do recommend that our clients continue to have a commercial health insurance plan.

Q: Do you accept health insurance?

A: For our DPC members, weight loss management, and testosterone therapy you will be auto-billed. You may cancel at any time with no hassle or fees. For weight loss and testosterone therapy, there is a 3 month commitment due to the nature of the medication.

Q: How do I get billed?

A: We do not, but we can help you find out what you need and where it is available. Most common vaccines are available at nearby pharmacies and are covered by your private insurance.

Q: Do you provide vaccines?

A: We do not manage chronic pain. This should be done through pain management. Pain control for acute complaints will be treated on a case-by-case basis.

Q: Do you prescribe pain medications?

A: Yes, all virtual visits are completely covered through our membership. There is a $55 fee for non-members.

Q: Do you offer virtual visits?

A: Our members always come first when scheduling with our providers. However, if there are available slots, we're more than happy to welcome non-members as well! Non-member house calls are $150, telehealth appointments are $55.

Q: Do I need to be a member to be seen?

A: Items such as subsequent laboratory tests, immunizations, diagnostic tests, hospitalizations, specialist visits, and medications are not covered by the membership fee. These services are usually covered by your health insurance plan. We recommend health insurance to everyone as we are not a health insurance company.

Q: What is not covered by my DPC membership fee?

A: Under 65: $90/month
Over 65: $110/month
Student Discount (18+ with valid ID or transcripts): $80/month

Q: What are your membership fees for direct primary care?

A: Our members have a direct line to access us if there is a need for refills. It is always recommended that you DO NOT wait until the last minute to notify us of a refill medication issue. Please notify us as soon as possible if you notice a problem. For controlled substances, federal law does require intermittent face-to-face follow-ups, which will be discussed at your visit.

Q: How do I get medication refills?

A: As long as necessary. Initial consultations for weight loss, testosterone, and DPC are typically 60 minutes or less. For DPC or one-time appointments, we ask that you list all of your concerns on our intake form so we allow more than enough time to address your needs.

Q: How long will my appointment last?

A: Our hours vary for patients. The best way to schedule with us is to call or text us. Someone from our team will reach out to you ASAP to schedule. We do not follow a traditional business schedule, as we try to remain accessible as much as we can for the patient. Our members have a separate direct line when they need us.

Q: What are your business hours?

A: You will be directed to a lab center for completion. You can use your private insurance for your labs. No coverage? No problem, we can help.
Our costs for labs are:
General wellness: $100
Elite work-up (general wellness + hormone panel): $190

Q: What are the lab costs for my annual wellness visits?

A: Labs will be required prior to initiation of therapy. You will be directed to a lab center for completion. You can use your private insurance for your labs. Most insurance will cover this; if they don’t, no worries, we can help.

Q: Will I need to get lab work completed for medical weight loss or testosterone treatment?
